In the cat world, there is something known as "bonded pairs". Bonded pairs are cats that should not be separated. These are cats who would not thrive without one another. These can be cats from the same litter or random cats who bonded with one another throughout life. They're easy to spot - because they are always together, and they always should be together. Some shelters refuse to separate bonded pairs outright. It's better to keep them waiting for the perfect family in the shelter for longer then to separate them.
In the video that you are about to see that went viral on twitter over the weekend, you're going to see a pair of bonded kittens, and you're going to see exactly what happens when you try to separate them. Now, these two are still very young, and even a momentary separation can be scary, but even as they will grow older, they will need to stick close to one another - because that is the only way that they will be truly happy.
