Trauma is a tough thing to overcome, but when you have a pawdorable pet (especially a cat child) by your side, then the load is lightened significantly. You have someone to lean on, someone to sit with, without having to utter a single word, someone who no matter what will be by your side when things get tough. And while this is an amazing kind of a relationship, it does create certain difficulties when you want to bring another hooman into your closest circle of trust.
Especially if that hooman has also been through trauma and has an emotional support doggo of their own. And that is the basis of this story, which details the drama that unfolded when these two post-traumatic individuals tried to figure out how they might get to live together. An unfortunately problematic decision that cost both of the people involved a lot of emotional energy.
