You an prepaw yourself as much as you want, you'll never be fully ready for a child. It doesn't matter if it's adopting a new kitty, pupper, or bringing a hooman child. When we adopted our first cat, we prepared for weeks. We got the litter, bags of food, treats, toys, even a cat tree! We coached our partner, who had never had a cat before, about how our lives would change with a fur baby in the house. And then we went to pick her up, we brought her back, and we realized how blissfully unprepared we were.
All of this to say that even if you did your Boy Scout's best to prepare for a new cat child, it wouldn't really matter because as long as you have a warm place for them to sleep and some food, you're about as prepared as you'll ever be. That's what happened to this canine-loving family below, when one of their doggos alerted them to something in the backyard. To their surprise, it was a smol, sassy kitten stuck in their wood pile. She was screaming at the top of her lungs for help, and as soon as they rescued her, she decided she was already a member of their fuzzy family. She follows around one of their doggos like he's her mom, and we'd be lying if we said it wasn't the cutest thing ever.
