Something that we say a lot, here at ICHC, is that cats adopt their humans, not the other way around. And although most cat owners tend to agree with us, some of them don't. These people tell us that they didn't get jumped by a cat when they were on a walk or something. No, they went to a shelter, and they chose their cat. They tell us that they looked at all the cats there, and saw their future cat, feeling an immediate connection. They knew, just by looking, that that cat was their cat. And they think that disproves our point, when it, in fact, proves it.
That feeling… that special feeling that you get, that's the cat distribution at work. There's a reason why you get drawn to one cat more than another. There's a reason that bond forms so fast and so hard. Because it's meant to be. And the girl in this story just proves it. She didn't even see the cat, not really. She had to climb up on a chair to get a look at him, but she knew it was worth it. She knew that kitty was her kitty. And the cat knew it too. An invisible string pulled them toward one another. Because it was meant to be.
